Overview

RenDx RUO KitboxBacterial and/or viral transfer into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) can be life threatening, with immunocompromised and young patients particularly vulnerable. These patients are susceptible to a wide array of infections with bacterial infection observed in the majority of acute meningitis cases. Meningitis and encephalitis must be treated quickly and effectively to prevent deterioration in the patient.

The RenDx CSFplex panel will detect the most commonly occurring bacterial and viral pathogens known to cause infection of the CSF, including meningitis and encephalitis. The assay, designed for clinical research, detects nucleic acid extracted directly from samples of CSF, using standard extraction methods.
