Infection of CSF

RenDx RUO KitboxBacterial and/or viral infection of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) can be life threatening, with immunocompromised and young patients particularly vulnerable. These patients are susceptible to a wide array of infections with bacterial infection observed in the majority of acute meningitis cases. Meningitis and encephalitis must be treated quickly and effectively to prevent deterioration in the patient.

Renishaw Diagnostics will offer two assays that will detect the most common bacterial and viral pathogens known to cause infection of the CSF, providing maximum flexibility when choosing the appropriate assay for your lab. The assays will detect nucleic acid extracted directly from samples of CSF, using standard extraction methods.
