Diagnostic focus - Infectious DiseasesRenishaw Diagnostics will provide automated, multiplex, high sensitivity molecular diagnostic systems to facilitate fast, reliable and simplified disease detection and thus enable clinicians to improve patient care. The Company uses new patented technology based on surface enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) to develop molecular diagnostic tests for the infectious disease market. The main advantages of this novel technology are speed, high sensitivity, multiplex disease detection and analysis providing clinicians with fast simple diagnostic answers to aid in correct antibiotic selection. Currently a series of broad range screening tests are being developed which can deliver both the common causes of disease states and the less common (but still clinically significant) infectious agents. Working closely in collaboration with some of Europe’s leading clinical facilities ensures our products’ clinical relevance centred on their therapeutic and patient management benefits. Early stage trials with our clinical partners has provided excellent results compared to traditional testing methodologies.
