Graduate Molecular Biologist*

Renishaw Diagnostics is a dynamic R&D company that develops ultra sensitive detection systems to provide analytical solutions for both clinical and biopharma laboratories.  Our team is expanding and we have a vacancy for a talented graduate molecular biologist that will play a key role in the continued development of our molecular diagnostics portfolio. 

The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:

  • To  develop ultra sensitive biomarker detection assays utilising Renishaw Diagnostics’ proprietary technologies 
  • To undertake assay development for a variety of targets, utilising both Immunoassay and PCR-based technologies 
  • To liaise with the project coordinators and effectively communicate scientific progress within the context of the project as a whole 
  • To work with the team to provide core knowledge molecular biology skills

Qualifications and expertise:

All applicants are required to have the following:

  • A 2:1 degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Forensics or a related discipline
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external clients

Although not essential it is desirable if applicants have some of the following:

  • A Masters degree in a relevant subject 
  • Practical laboratory expertise, preferably from an ISO 13485 or ISO 9000/2001 accredited laboratory
  • A working knowledge of GLP, GMP and / or GCP

Person specification:

The successful applicant will be diligent and thorough with a good eye for detail.  Organised and highly motivated, they will be able to demonstrate effective planning skills and be able to multitask and prioritise in order to meet deadlines when working on several projects simultaneously.  The individual in this role will have a capacity for learning and implementing new ideas and techniques, working in a dynamic environment which encourages initiative.  They should be able to work effectively either alone or as part of a team and they will possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.  .
